Antique furniture & mixing old and new

This antique mahogany armoire is from the beginning of 1900 century. I find it kind of majestic piece of furniture; standing grand in the corner. Just love the hand carved details and the greatness of all.
Loving this armoire.

See the majestic towers.

Loving the details.

This old mahogany liqeuer cabinet is from ca. 1840's. It is such a treasure; standing noble in our hall upstairs.
See the unique details. Just love it.

Imagine the effort making these carvings in 1800's.

The chair which can also used as a quest elongated bed, is an excellent example of art nouveau (jugend) design, of which Finnish people are very keen on to. Art nouveau was dominating art in Europe from 1890 till early 1900 century. Art nouveau opened the field to artists and deleted the boundaries between the branch of sciences and between different fields of art. Art nouveau style can be found especially in architecture, design, interior design and also in poster art in the era mentioned.

A beautiful peace of furniture. Made the cushions to fit the old design, with natural colours to not to steal the attention from the chair. Our cats love it too.

See the typical details of art nouveau.

Just love mixing old and new furniture. Love the old furniture much but to avoid the feeling of a museum like to give the atmosphere a slight modern twist.

An old antique table and antique armoire
is accompanied with Vitra Eams DSR chairs.
Probably dividing opinions. What do you think?

Think the wool carpet is collecting all pieces very nicely together -
despite the totally different style and era of the furniture.
